Charlotte joined Mortons – Urban Solutions on a casual basis in 2018 as an Undergraduate Engineer while undertaking her studies at Griffith University.  In 2019 Charlotte Graduated with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Hons.) and joined Mortons – Urban Solutions full time as a Graduate Engineer.

Charlotte is continuing to gain experience, working on a wide range of master planned residential developments and is well practised in Civil Engineering Design, obtaining Statutory Authority Approvals, Contract Administration and Project Coordination. Charlotte delivers projects to a high standard and builds strong relationships with Clients and Contractors in the process.

Charlotte is a Graduate Member of the Institution of Engineers Australia and is working towards becoming a Chartered Engineer and obtaining NER and RPEQ status.

Di Maroney

Business Administrator

Di has been employed by Mortons – Urban Solutions since 2000 and has a degree from Griffith University.

Di is responsible for managing all financial aspects of the company and oversees the management of company properties, leases and other assets on the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Cairns and Perth. She is also the HR officer and manages the administration of staff related matters.

Di has extensive property development experience, having worked in the industry prior to joining Mortons and has a good understanding of the business operations and is empathetic to our clients’ needs.

Field Inspector

Doug has been employed by Mortons – Urban Solutions for a period of 12 years as a Civil Inspector.

As Civil Inspector, Doug is responsible for the supervision of the operation of contractors on sites where Mortons is engaged as Project Engineer. Doug’s role also involves liaising with the client and contractors, resolving any problems that may occur, organising council inspections and ensuring the smooth and timely delivery of on-site works.

Doug is well respected by the local authorities and council staff and has excellent contractor and client relationships.

Prior to working with Mortons – Urban Solutions, Doug was employed as a supervisor for a civil contractor and has over 24 years’ experience in the civil engineering industry.

Erika Perry

CAD Draftsperson

Erika joined Mortons – Urban Solutions in 2003 and has over 10 years’ experience as a CAD operator and draftsperson.

Erika’s current role involves liaising with project engineers, planners and civil designers to ensure the information that is transferred to drawings and plans is accurate and correct and meets all the relevant council and in-house drafting standards.

Erika is also responsible for liaising with surveying companies to produce accurate documentation of constructed works in accordance with the relevant council standards.

Erika has good attention to detail and works well under tight timeframes to produce the necessary plans to a very high standard.

Michael joined Mortons – Urban Solutions in April 2021.  Michael has vast experienced in the CAD Industry having worked on drafting boards for 10 years and 35 years as a CAD Operator.  He has worked in the United Kingdom, Europe, Middle East, Australia to name a few. Michael was also a teacher of Autodesk products.

Glen has over 25 years of Urban development design experience throughout Queensland and Australia. Glen is proficient in AutoCAD and 12D and has worked extensively in South East Queensland and Western Australia. He is regularly involved in the early phase of a project to ensure the efficiency and best delivery outcomes for all his projects are achieved, meeting the client and project objectives.

Iza completed a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Property and Finance in 2003 at Curtin University of Technology in Perth Western Australia and has over 10 years’ experience specialising in residential development for major property developers.

Iza worked for Mortons – Urban Solutions in a project co-ordination role in 2015 for 2 years before moving to France with her family in 2018 for a 2-year adventure.

Resuming at Mortons in 2020 Iza is currently undertaking a project co-ordination role of the Perth based Projects.

James Proverbs

James obtained a Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering and Management from Deakin University in 2007. Prior to this he held an Associate Diploma in Civil Engineering. James has been involved in the Civil Engineering Industry for over 25 years and has extensive experience in land development, working within both Local government and Consultancy roles.

James joined Mortons – Urban Solutions in 2018 when he moved from Tasmania with his family. James’ role within the company is that of Project Coordinator and is responsible for the ongoing management of the various components of each project through to completion. This involves coordinating Civil Engineering Design with other disciplines, obtaining approvals from Statutory Authorities and undertaking Construction Supervision and Contract Administration. Finally, James will ensure all documentation is in place to facilitate Plan Sealing and the creation of new titles.

James has extensive experience in Design and Contract Administration. He has a good understanding of Council process as well as experience dealing with Water and Road Authorities. James has a good track record of project delivery with high quality outcomes.

Jane Burrell

Jane joined Mortons – Urban Solutions in 2017 and has a Bachelor of Urban & Environmental Planning and a Diploma of Project Management. Jane has 2 years of experience in Landscape Design and 4 years of experience as a CAD operator.

Jane’s current role at Mortons – Urban Solutions is to liaise with in-house project engineers, planners, civil designers, and affiliated contractors to ensure the correct interpretation of sketched designs reflect and adhere to Council standards and are completed within the correct timeframe.

Jane is also responsible for collaborating with landscapers, electrical engineers, surveyors, and local Council to ensure plans meet client expectations and requirements.

John Harrison

Director

John is a Civil Engineer with over 29 years’ experience in engineering. John joined Mortons – Urban Solutions in December 1999 and became a Director of the business in 2005, following eight years in the civil construction industry. John has considerable experience in all facets of the civil construction industry ranging from Estimating and Construction Supervision to Project Management.

John’s primary role as a Director of the company, is to manage the Design and Engineering teams to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget and in accordance with the approved engineering standards. John works closely with Mortons clients and is involved in the delivery of these projects. He has an extensive network of industry contacts and is well respected by industry representatives and stakeholders such as local government, development consultants and his client base.

John has extensive experience in the delivery and cost planning of residential estates – including master planned communities and smaller subdivision projects. In John’s years as a contractor, he gained valuable skills in the production of cost estimates through the detailed tender process.

John is experienced in the production of project cost analyses and contractual negotiations, which includes the preparation of ‘whole of life’ project costings for project feasibility, updating and maintenance of civil budgets for regular project performance reviews, advice in relation to contract durations and the reviewing of contract documentation and variations. John also understands the importance of site presentation both during and post construction which has become one of the key criteria for the staff of Mortons – Urban Solutions.

John is a Practising Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) and registered on the National Engineering Register (NER), he is also a member of UDIA and Engineers Australia.

Kevin Fox

Kevin obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (Civil) in 1988 from the University of British Columbia, Canada and has over 32 years of land development, geotechnical and civil engineering experience in Canada and Australia, working in both development and consultancy roles.

Kevin joined Mortons – Urban Solutions in 2006 and became a Director of the business in 2007. Kevin’s primary role as a Director of the company is to manage the Design and Engineering teams to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget and in accordance with the approved engineering standards. Kevin is also focused on Business Development and ensuring there is a future pipeline of work to support the continued growth and performance of the business.

Kevin is highly experienced in Project Management Services, Project Coordination, Estimating and Construction Supervision. He is well connected in the development industry and maintains a good working relationship with Government Agencies at all levels.

Matt is a Civil Engineer with over 14 years’ experience in Civil Engineering. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) (Hons), is a Member of Engineers Australia, Chartered Professional Engineer, Practising Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) and registered on the National Engineering Register (NER)

Matt joined Mortons – Urban Solutions in 2007 and has a successful history starting from work experience and progressing to Project Coordinator / Senior Engineer then a Director of the Company.

Matt has extensive experience in Project Coordination and engineering design for large residential and master planned developments and associated design of water, sewer, and road networks.

Matt has built strong relationships with our clients’ and will play a big part in progressing the Mortons corporate strategic goals.

Project Coordinator / Senior Engineer

Matt holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) (Hons) and is a Member of Engineers Australia.

Matt has over 13 years professional experience working as both the client and as a consultant. Through his experience with GHD Pty Ltd, Matt was involved in the construction of a variety of government civil and structural infrastructure projects ranging from small local road resurfacing to major bypass highway construction. As a Developer/Client he was involved in residential development from land purchase through planning to construction which made him very aware of the implications of time and cost control on projects.

Since joining the Mortons – Urban Solutions team over 3 years ago Matt has been involved in the project coordination and engineering design of small, medium and large scale developments. From 10 lot residential subdivisions, 100+ lot acreage Estates through to a master-planned, mixed use 15,000+ dwelling projects.

Matt enjoys building relationships with clients to understand what they are trying to achieve with their project and is commercial in his approach. Matt is respected by his peers, clients and key industry representatives.

Office Assistant

Nikki joined Mortons – Urban Solutions in 2005 as an Administrative Assistant and receptionist. Nikki’s role has since expanded to include development and management of the paperless filing system, all data recording and QA processes.

Nikki has 10 years’ local government experience, working in the areas of Records, Rates and Engineering Services where she held the position of Minutes/Support Secretary for the Engineering Committee and was Assistant Secretary to the Director of Engineering Services.

Nikki is efficient, competent and approachable and has a detailed understanding of all aspects of the administrative business operations.

Sunshine Coast Manager / Design Office Manager

Paul joined Mortons – Urban Solutions in October 2012 as the Sunshine Coast Design Manager and is also Office Manager. Paul is involved with the design, documentation and management of civil and civil infrastructure projects on the Sunshine Coast and in regional Queensland.

Paul holds an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering from QUT and has in excess of 30 years design experience in the civil engineering industry, with extensive experience in the design of master planned communities, major road infrastructure, project management and he has held design office management positions within Australia for both local government and private consultancies.

Paula joined Mortons – Urban Solutions in 1997 initially in the role of Receptionist and progressed to Personal Assistant to Warren Morton, Founder of the Company.  She also assists Directors, John Harrison and Kevin Fox.

Prior to joining Mortons – Urban Solutions, Paula worked for 18 years in Local Government as Personal Assistant to the Town Planner / Planning & Development Minute Clerk.  Paula has extensive office administration and development industry experience and has established strong relationships with Mortons clients.  She is well respected, efficient, highly organised and committed to contributing to the growth and success of the company.

Warren Morton

Warren is the Founding Director of Mortons – Urban Solutions. With over 48 years’ experience as a Civil Engineer and Project Manager Warren is well connected in the Development and other related Business Industries and has an established network of contacts. Through his extensive project experience, Warren also has knowledge of planning issues and relevant planning and environmental legislation.

Since establishing the consulting practice in 1992 (then called Morton & Associates), the business has expanded from the Gold Coast to servicing the northern NSW region, Sunshine Coast, and Perth.

Warren oversees the growth of the Perth office providing strategic direction and using his years of expertise combined with his established business networks to replicate the success of the QLD business.

Prior to commencing the consulting practice in 1992, Warren had 10 years’ experience with the former Albert Shire (now City of Gold Coast) as Construction Engineer, Planning Engineer and Subdivision Engineer.

Warren is highly experienced in Project Management, Evaluation of Development Proposals, Construction Supervision and negotiations with Local and State Government agencies to achieve sound development outcomes.

Warren is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists, and Managers (Australia), Registered Professional Engineer (Queensland), Member of the Queensland Environmental Law Association (QELA) and a Member of the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA).
