The skill set, qualifications and project experiences of our employees are varied, with backgrounds in Engineering, Project Management, Property Economics, Design, Information Technology and Finance. Our five directors play an active role in the management and delivery of every project.
Our Directors
Warren Morton
Warren is the Founding Director of Mortons – Urban Solutions. With 40+ years experience as a civil engineer and project manager Warren is well connected in the development and other related business industries and has an established network of contacts. Through his extensive project experience, Warren also has knowledge of planning issues and relevant planning and environmental legislation.
Prior to commencing the consulting practice in 1991 (then called Morton & Associates), Warren had 10 years’ experience with the former Albert Shire (now City of Gold Coast) as construction engineer, planning engineer and subdivision engineer. Warren is highly experienced in project management, evaluation of development proposals, construction supervision and negotiations with local and state government agencies to achieve sound development outcomes.
Warren is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists, and Managers (Australia), a practicing Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland, Member of the Queensland Environmental Law Association (QELA) and a member of the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA).
John Harrison
John is a civil engineer with 35+ years experience in engineering, he joined Mortons – Urban Solutions in December 1999 where he became a Director of the business in 2005. John has considerable experience in all facets of the civil construction industry ranging from estimating and construction supervision to project management. John has an extensive network of industry contacts and is well respected by industry representatives and stakeholders such as local government, development consultants and his client base.
John has extensive experience in the delivery and cost planning of residential estates – including master planned communities and smaller subdivision projects. He holds 7 years of construction management experience having worked for a construction company prior to joining Mortons – Urban Solutions, in this role he gained valuable skills in the production of cost estimates through the detailed tender process which translates to his work involving project cost analyses and contractual negotiations at Mortons – Urban Solutions. John’s capabilities also include contract administration for construction projects, liaising with council officers regarding approvals and construction issues, preparation of project development cost estimates and coordination with design staff to ensure project timeframes are achieved.
John is a practicing Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland, registered on the National Engineering Register (NER), and a member of UDIA and Engineers Australia.
Matthew Langmack
Matt is a Civil Engineer with over 17 years’ experience in civil engineering, he joined Mortons – Urban Solutions in 2007 as an undergraduate engineer where he progressed to the title of Project Coordinator / Senior Engineer before later becoming a Director of the business in 2021. Matt has built strong and lasting relationships with his client base, government agencies and consultants.
Matt has extensive experience in project coordination and engineering design for large residential and master planned developments and associated design of water, sewer, and road networks. Matt focuses on business development and endeavors to achieve the companies corporate strategic goals to support the continued growth and performance of the business.
Matt is a Member of Engineers Australia, a Chartered Professional Engineer, a practicing Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland and is registered on the National Engineering Register.
Ursula Weeks
Ursula is a Civil Engineer with over 20 years’ experience, she joined Mortons – Urban Solutions in 2002, starting as a graduate engineer where she gained the knowledge and experience of the consulting industry. In 2013 Ursula left Mortons – Urban Solutions to work with a civil contractor and other consulting firms to further expand her knowledge and experience of the field of civil engineering. In 2021 Ursula returned to Mortons – Urban Solutions as a Senior Civil Engineer and Project Coordinator where she then became a Director of the business in 2024. Ursula builds strong relationships with all clients, consultants and government agencies she works with and is well respected within the industry.
Ursula has an expansive knowledge in project coordination, engineering design and contract administration having worked across a number of large residential and master planned development projects on the Gold Coast, Logan, Ipswich, Brisbane, Toowoomba and Moreton Bay.
Ursula is a Member of Engineers Australia, a Chartered Professional Engineer, a practicing Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland and is registered on the National Engineering Register.
Nev Quak
Nev is a Senior Civil Engineer with over 20 years of civil engineering experience. Nev joined MUS in September 2024 as a Senior Civil Engineer and became a Director of the business in July 2026. He brings extensive local government experience from senior roles at Logan City Council and Redland City Council.
Nev has extensive experience in development engineering, contract administration, construction compliance, and the assessment of development applications. He has a strong understanding of the development assessment process and has worked extensively with Logan City Council, Gold Coast City Council, Redland City Council, and Tweed Shire Council to deliver practical outcomes for development projects.
Nev works closely with clients, contractors, consultants and local authorities, providing practical engineering advice and helping to deliver successful development outcomes from approvals through to construction.
Nev is a member of Engineers Australia a practicing Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland and is registered on the National Engineering Register.
